Mark J. Mitchell, 64, of Medford formerly of Stoneham, died on Sunday, October 17th at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Boston on July 18, 1957, he was the son of the late William, Jr., and Evelyn (White) Mitchell.

Mark was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1974, Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and Cal Arts character animations. He was a free lance artist and had worked for the Walt Disney Company. Mark enjoyed all classic horror (monster billings) movies. He was an Artist-Teacher-Historian on the Life and Work of Walt Disney.

Mark was the brother of Mary Theresa Boyle of Derry, NH, Kathleen Foster of Wrentham, Susan Mitchell of Danvers, Evelyn Mitchell of Jaffrey, NH and the late Marilyn Goucher, William R. Mitchell, III and John Mitchell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday from 4-7pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Friday at 10am. At the family's request, all guests are asked to wear masks at the Funeral Home and at church.
